The beauty and the closed heart

I cant help but see tonight after realising how given up i have felt in my life at times that its not just me but that humanity as a whole has known somewhere inside that something is not right on some level that there could be some Magic, yet if our hearts have been closed and we've become bitter and basically given up and succumb to the mundane in life.
I would love to find a way to help at least those people who do feel lost to re-find that magic again, i have probably given up on myself a long time ago but with the will to bring healing to carry on i know we could do some great things for this planet if we pull together! heh maybe I'm dreaming, but Ive seen the magic at times especially in my beautiful Lady's eyes we both once knew and probably all know somewhere in our souls the beauty that's relay out there beyond the pain of a closed and lost heart!

The Best Colon Cleanse Recipe!

Well here we go today we've been fasting! and i want fish and chips already! haha
Well honestly i've never done this before but should be interesting! Here is what my lady found on the net today so we thought we would try it!

Psyllium and Bentonite Colon Cleanse
1 rounded teaspoon psyllium husk
1 teaspoon bentonite clay powder (or 1 tablespoon liquid bentonite clay)
8 ounces water or juice

Place the psyllium and bentonite in an empty glass, then add the water and stir briskly.
Drink quickly, before it thickens.
Follow with another 8 ounces of plain water or juice. Plenty of fluid is important.

"Just as we attempt to stimulate the emliminative processes of the skin and the lungs through dry skin brushing and breathing exercises, we can also enhance bowel activity and health by performing a colon cleanse. The liver in particular plays a major role in bodily detox, and it uses the colon as its "dumping ground"."

Stephen Dinan: Because our focus here is the Sacred Awakening Series and you weave together the natural world and the sacred dimension in very interesting ways, I’d love you to share a bit about your own history of first coming into the work you did with Luna and the environment but also how that has had a deeper sacred dimension for you as well.
Julia Butterfly Hill: I’ll answer that question but I’m going to first share one other thing. I want to make sure that I start this conversation by letting people know that for me when I hear something like “spiritual leader” I wonder, what does that mean? So I want to make sure and reflect to everyone that for me, my commitment is that I’m doing my best to be a mirror. I’ve learned in my life that we cannot see in others what we don’t already have within ourselves. When I’m sharing, I’m really sharing from a heart-filled space. Hopefully something that I share will reflect something to someone that allows us all to see deeper into ourselves.

I also tell people that if I share something that folks don’t like, all they have to do is compost it. (laughs) Because then it can still serve us, right? I want to make sure that on the very front end of this conversation, just to reflect back, that I don’t claim to be an expert and I don’t claim to be a know-it-all. I don’t claim to be anything other than a person who cares very deeply about this planet and all the life that it sustains and I share from that place. I just want to make sure and start the conversation that way. When it comes to answering the question of how this form of sacred activism began for me in the Redwoods – it was really my first real action in my life. When I first entered the Redwoods I was just so profoundly and deeply moved by the energy of these forests. I was raised with a preacher for a father and I had never experienced anything remotely as sacred and as profound as the first time I entered the Redwood forest. It was like I finally breathed in what God must feel like. It was so beautiful for me and I literally began sobbing. It was such a deep and powerful experience. So when I entered my first clearcut and I learned that over 98% of the ancient Redwoods had already been cut down and that they were continuing to log them with such destructive practices. The industrial logging was so destructive to these areas that I was as deeply torn apart as I had been touched by the beauty. I was just as deeply devastated learning and seeing and witnessing the destruction of these sacred forests and that’s what launched me into what became an internationally-known action.

I really didn’t know what I was going to do but I knew that I had to do something and although I didn’t have experience being an activist I had experience climbing trees. (laughs) And so when I heard that I could climb a tree to make a difference, I volunteered and climbed Luna, an over one thousand year-old Redwood that had been marked to be cut down. I really didn’t see it as a spiritual practice at first. I was actually really hurt and angry at first. I could see for miles in every direction. I could see the then Pacific Lumber Maxxam Corporation mill that was taking these ancient forests and turning them into blasted-away hillsides and burnt desecrated ground. In the beginning I was filled with a lot of grief and rage but that grief and rage began to destroy me and I had to find a new way and a new purpose to act from. That’s what led me on a spiritual journey that emerged as how I live my life now as committed to having the sacred guide me every moment of every day.

Madness Ramble

Here i am, going absolutely insane! over trying to sort out "files all over the pc" disorganisation (that's my conditioning), so im looking at my website wondering what the heck the diferances are between php, xml, java and flash! youtube, embed, boy it drives me nuts, would love to have the money to employ someone to teach or help me build my site!.
I become aware of just how nuts we are in this world so stuck in the mind with things so forever complicated, thats ok tho thats probably just my desire to be in a simpler time, simpler place. Nature ahh yes!

Anyway, the last few months i spent trying to stop smoking and success! it's been over two months now, took me a while to stop chewing the nicotine gum but that's ok! as im now chewing my hand! no nicotine means no nicotine! no more chemicals, clean clean clean! and no need to use it to cover up grief wounds.

Cumbria / Barrow-In-Furness and Lancashire / Heywood

3 projects

First is an Acoustic/Folk/Jazz/blues ensemble , Flutes,double bass, violin, small drums (djembe) ect.. would be great! I already have a lot of material we can do which would alow pleanty of room for imrpovisation, im singing/acoustic guitar

Second is a classic.rock/progressive/blues/fusion band mixing any other genres into the playing, the style is open.
I have giging in mind for both projects, so id like to find a great drummer, bassist, and keyboard players.

The Third Project is messing about with samples with someone, id like to make some funky dance type stuff a bit like jamiroquai as a side project, we can work together or Via internet as a posibility.

The Bollywood Brass Band

Went to see the "Bollywood Brass Band" last night, not bad! they play hit's from bollywood films, i thought it might be interesting and it was they had no singer but that didn't matter.
Nice stuff just a shame we didnt hae the confidance to get up and dance YET! lol

Trip to Blackpool

Got myself a pack of realy cheap Cigarete's you know the ones with chemicals man do they taste crap. Then went to sleep having wierd messed up dreams which im pretty certain were to do with smoking dodgy ciggie's lol

Anyway my conclusion was Blackpool is a dump.

Sax

Well my Girlfriend just got herself a Tennor Saxaphone! I tried to play it but could hardly get a note out of the thing lol.
After a few mins of playing she had already got something going, so im pretty exited to see what happens and play some music together, i love the Sax especialy in Jazz.
I Actualy started to cry when she played it, they were tears of joy at finding somone i love play an instrument :) what a sexy sound it has!

Last night me and the woman went to see "wishbone ash" In Barrow-in-Furness, It was thoroughly Enjoyed, of course they played some of there older songs.
I liked the folk feeling and how they used it playing harmonised lead guitar solo's.

Vegtable Strew with quorn

Yum I just tried to decode my girlfriends stew it went something like this

2 onions
3 carrots
10 sprouts cut in half
2 big spuds
half cauliflower
1 broccoli
5 veg stock cubes
large teaspoon mar mite
mix herbs,salt pepper
1 small pack instant mash to thicken it
and some margarine
some quorn mince

Easy on the taste buds but not bland

Trip To Ulverston

Well we just got back from The beautiful Town Ulverston the historic market town :)
Nice cobbled streets with good walks along the canal!

We Went to visit mainly to check out the healing centre.
Ulverstoon Natural health centre it was cool but not quite what i expected as i could easily just get a Gong and a crystal and do the same procedure they did on myself!
On the way back i decided to go into "libra" the Crystal and Gift shop, and talked to a couple of nice people, then got myself a "Smoky Quartz"

A good for grounding stone which is nice since my energy's been all over the place! and Smokey Quartz is said to be good for anxiety and nightmares, cool
I think the one in the picture would cost a lot mine cost me £1 lol

Right Well this Blog is going to be the home of all things Rixsta, my progress in life the journeys and ups and downs of every day, i will try to be as honest as i can as i think that's a pretty good thing to be!

Speaking of being honest, last night i woke up totally screaming my head off! if anything it reminds me of the extreme power of our dreams. Ive had this happen a fair few times this year yet when i wake i am unable to remember exactly what it was that frightened me lol One theory is that when we have reoccurring dreams like that we can be denying of blocking exactly what it is we are scared of (probably something from childhood) and what fascinates me is that I'm 26 years old and don't remember having nightmares as a kid but am having them now. Screaming your head of in fear is part freaky and part exiting, exiting in that any fear overcome i believe just shows us how we are greater and stronger than that which we fear and in that moment would feel our power.

Just a pity i cant seem to get over this one! (YET) more on that later tho.

Anyway, The plans of this blog are to share the journeys and wisdom of me and my girlfriend and all this will be leading up to at some point traveling the world!
